Speeding Showdown 

 

 

    Peter and Stu the two Lhasan boys are stuck on the Himalayas with Rapton the dragon on their trail. An avalanche is taking place and it’s coming down on them.

 

    ”Watch out!” Peter alerted as a tree crashed to the floor.

    ”Hop on that tree.”Stu said.  They hopped onto the tree and sped down the slope.  Rapton was hidden in the snow and only a minute later he surged back up launching a dozen flames at the fallen trunk.

    ”Oh great, pass the marshmallows, Peter.”Stu said.

    ”Sorry but I can’t right now, my tunic is on fire!”Peter yelled.  ”Hang on to that tree and try passing it to me.” 

  

    Stu did as he was told but his sleeve caught fire as well.  Peter then dragged the tree in a position where it would get stuck between two rocks and told Stu to come over.

    ”I told you it wasn’t my stomach rumbling.” Stu said. 

    ”Although I seriously thought you would let out a force wind.” Peter added.  “But just get onto this trunk.”  They both tried wobbling onto the tree that stuck onto two stones.  But their clothes were still on fire and they fell off stunned by the burn. Peter just had time to hang on to a branch and catch Stu when another gust of flames whooshed through the air and threw him off balance.

 

    He fell into the snow still clutching his little brother and the branch in his free hand, the fire on his tunic went out but there was still a few black marks on his back.  He pulled himself and Stu back up when flames flew between them burning the tree in two.  Rapton landed on Stu’s part so heavily that it sent Stu flying through the air.

    ”I believe I can … NOT FLY!” He screamed.  “I BELIEVE I’M ABOUT TO DIE!” He hit a tree face first and fell one leg on each side of a branch. The tree fell down and again he fell one leg on each side of the tree.

    ”Ow” Peter thought.  “Nasty!” 

 

    They were headed to the forest.  Trees were lying everywhere in the way Rapton had left them.  At first the ride wasn’t bad but then it got really bumpy.  Trees hit each other crazily throwing the boys off balance.  Peter leaped to a tree that had not fallen and grabbed another tree with his free hand; Rapton caught sight of him and dove towards him.  Peter let go of the tree that was upwards and the dragon smashed straight into it before crash landing back into the snow. 

 

    They zoomed passed Rapton, they zoomed passed the trees, they zoomed past everything except the ruin of the city, piles of stones were everywhere, dead animals and human bodies littered the floor.  They crashed through more stones, they crashed through more trees and yet the avalanche still was there getting more and more fierce, quick and close.  Suddenly they saw a fallen tower overhead in a position where they could go flying.  In a split second Rapton shot out of the snow throwing flames at them.

 

    Rapton darted towards them. 

    ”Aw man, this constipated Raton is getting on my nerves.” Stu said but Peter interrupted and asked.

    ”Twice in a day you say the word “constipated” but do you actually know what it means?” 

    ”Err….. No.” Stu answered.  The tree soared into the air.  Rapton couldn’t even take aim since the tree landed on his head. 

    ”Are we dead yet?” They both asked.

 

    They opened their eyes and looked behind them; they had passed half of the town and had eliminated Rapton. 

    ”We’re going to live.” Stu yelled.  But the avalanche was getting closer and closer. “We’re going to die!”

Rocks still lied everywhere. Every now and then they had to lean to one side to avoid piles of house parts, stones, and other pieces of walls.

 

    This time they were headed to the Dragon Fang cliffs. 

    ”How do you stop this thing? How do you stop this thing?” Peter said. 

    ”By counting.” Stu answered.  ”10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1,0.” And at that moment the tree hit another block, spun in the air and landed at the end of the Dragon Fang cliff.

     “I was beginning to wonder if Stu forgot his brains today.” Peter thought.

 

    The boys however did a couple of somersaults and back-flips before Peter landed on his bottom, Stu came down a few seconds later on his face.  The avalanche was just 800 meters away Stu ran for his life but Peter picked up a pair of spears before sprinting like a springbok being chased by a billion jaguars. 

 

    The avalanche was only 500 meters away …300… 250 Peter jumped down the cliff and dug the spears into the ice hard. A moment later Stu dropped onto a condor that had started attacking Peter.  10000 tones of snow showered onto the ground.  A minute later it stopped. Stu couldn’t hold on any longer and rolled into a huge pile of snow shouting.

    ”Bombs away!!!

 

    Peter jumped down too still clutching the spears yelling.

    ”Super mega crash missile!!!” Just before he crash-landed he saw something shine in the snow. He got up and started running towards it. It was an “eternal life” Crystal.  He had read about those in a book.  Stu ran over.

    ”Are they rare?” He asked.

    ”As flying pigs, there are only three in the world.” He replied.

 

    ”Where are the other two?” Stu asked, impatient for adventure.

    ”Well.” Peter answered “The closest one is on Tangaroa Island.”

They started walking to Tangaroa Island the crystal in hand.  A small dragon appeared behind a pile of ice and stared from the boys to his dead father.  He started to follow them thinking of only one thing. (REVENGE).

On Wednesday the 8th of October I went to the Wetland Park with my class. It was fun there, we could see lots of animals and take pictures of them.There were mouse-deers, crocodiles, crabs, mudskippers and lots more.

I learnt the difference with dragonflies and damselflies: When dragonflies rest their wings are in, but resting damselfly wings are out.

And although we are in Hong Kong, there is still a lot of nature in this park.

I heard that some people have a huge amount of homework.

“I have 5 pages of boring homework.” one of my neighbours complained.

“I have 7 pages of homework.” the other said.  I don’t have very much homework and I don’t think it’s fair on them.

There is war in georgia.  Just beacause Georgia wants it’s independance doesn’t mean Russia has to attack it.  Everyone should have at least a bit of freedom. Has war ever been usefull?  The answer is NO Not maybe, not sometimes NO. Why is there war all over the world is the Question.

A lot of pollution is occuring in Hong Kong, The air stinks and is unbearable.  Thunder storms are coming from every direction It’s usualy sunny here but typhoons (strong winds) are pushing pollution over there.  If you live around Hong Kong please care for the environment.
